About Your Acupuncturist

Christina "Tina" Kellen, M.S., L.Ac., NY/SC, Dipl. NCBAHM, RDH, AFAA GFI Certified, received her Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the distinguished Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, New York where she graduated with Honors. At Tri-State College Tina was privileged to learn and to employ three styles of acupuncture, specifically, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (developed by Mark Seem Ph.D.), Japanese Style (influenced by Kiiko Matsumoto) and Traditional Chinese Medicine, for a myriad of conditions.

In pursuit of a more diverse education, Tina expanded her learning experience by going to Beijing, China with the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Society (WFAS). It was there, in 2007 where she had the opportunity to take her studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine to another level and to experience the culture of China as a student abroad. Tina studied at The Traditional Chinese Medicine University of Beijing and at various clinics and hospitals throughout Beijing where she learned and received hands on clinical experience for innumerable conditions ranging from Bell’s Palsy, chronic pain, obesity and beauty treatments to eye disorders just to name a few. She studied under the influence of renowned Masters of acupuncture, namely, Xinnong Cheng the author of the hailed Classic Chinese Text, Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion.

Before embarking on her career as an acupuncturist, Tina spent 18 years as a practicing dental hygienist working within the pediatric specialty of dentistry and maintains practicing clinically. She also spent that period as a part time fitness and yoga instructor, inspiring clients to reach their innate potential. She presently holds a license with the N.Y. State of Professions in Dental Hygiene, as well as many certifications with the gamut of fitness affiliations. Her experience working with children has honed her ability to naturally put people at ease and educate patients with the intent of helping them to overcome their apprehension of the unknown. Ultimately, she aims to empower her patients to conclude their treatment with a sense of confidence and self-assurance in their own healing ability. Tina’s long time interest and vast knowledge of human anatomy has given her unyielding respect for the uniqueness of each person and their individual inner workings.

Tina believes that we all have the potential to live healthy lives and that it is our Divine Right to enjoy balance and to feel whole in mind, body and spirit. She is passionate in her mission to help restore patients to their divine potential- the way they are intrinsically intended to be. It is her intention to create a sanctuary for patients to journey inward, where patients are encouraged to draw awareness to what holds them back (physical “holding patterns” precipitated by emotional blockages/traumatic events etc.) from attaining and retaining a state of wholeness and well being (physically/ emotionally/spiritually).

She is licensed by the N.Y. State Office of Professions as well as the S.C. Board of Medical Examiners (SCLLR) and maintains Diplomate status with the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
